I love beauty products. My dad worked for Unilever for most of his career. This meant we used Unilever products in our home at every opportunity. I wished I could use a soap other than Dove. I longed to try lotions other than Vaseline... Other people may not care, but I felt that I was told I could only have chocolate ice cream for the rest of my life. Don't get me wrong: it's my favorite. But I felt limited still.
When I was financially independent, I still felt obligated to buy Unilever, since my dad was an employee. But all bets were off when he retired. I wanted to try everything! And I did. Every shower gel, lotion, deoderant, shampoo, conditioner, you name it. It was bliss! But the result: half used containers and sample sized products all over the place! It has taken me years to finish these.
Lately, I feel a sense of accomplishment when I finish a product; as if the money I spent was not wasted.
The product I finished today is a tube of clear lip gloss by LORAC*. It was great! Glides on easy, is super moisturizing, not gluey, and tastes like vanilla or a creamsicle. It saved my lips during the super harsh Minnesota winter. You can get your own for $15 at Sephora. LORAC makes the gloss stick in other colors too. I have the sheer plum, and it adds a nice hint of color. It doesn't smudge my coffee cups either. I would definitely buy it again, once I finished all of my other lip glosses in the house. This might take a while. ;)
NB My dear husband is a Unilever employee, thus I am once again trying to stay brand loyal. However, Unilever doesn't make a directly competitve product to LORAC at this price point, so I am allowed to buy it. That is my story and I am sticking to it!
